Whether you call it a running track, jogging track or track and field, it deserves the best base layer of the sandwich system is made of SBR rubber granulate with a precisely defined particle size from a quality controlled production process. The granulate is bound to an elastic layer using a special binding agent. The base layer is sealed with another layer of liquid polyurethane and extremely fine EPDM dust. The top layer is given a textured surface which is combined with a high percentage of liquid polyurethane to achieve excellent integration. It is non-toxic and does not harbor insects or mold. Moreover, a six-inch layer of rubber safety surfacing can cushion a child's fall from as high as 16 feet. As many as 50 studies conducted on the state, national and global levels have reached the same conclusion... Crumb rubber used in artificial turf or as a playground surface poses no significant health or environmental risk.
